Cyber Monday Sales Skyrockets to Breaks Earlier Records
Cyber Monday, the most awaited online sales day of the year witnessed a record high sale of US$ 6.59 billion on Cyber Monday which is 17% more than the previous year’s sale. This day turned out to be the largest online shopping day in the history, as stated by Adobe Analytical Data.
Mobiles, being one of the favourite items for online shopping, also made a record high sale of $2 billion in a day. The sale for smart phones reached a new height amounting for 38 % of e-commerce visits and 21% of total revenue. Tablets also kept itself in the competition, making it to 9.1% of the revenue and 8.2 % of all the ecommerce visits.
Taylor Schreiner, the director of Adobe Digital Insights stated that “Cyber Monday broke records as consumers picked up their phones and tablets and went looking for bargains they had come to expect on this day,”. He also explained that better retail experiences in using the mobile in a faster and easy way can be the reason for increased use of mobile.
Some of the top selling items this Cyber Monday 2017 were Apple AirPods, Nintendo Switch, Google Chromecast, Playstation 4/4 Pro, Hatchimals and Colleggtibles figurines, Super Mario Odyssey, Roku and PJ Masks
The overall sales revenue of $50 billion was generated between November 1st to November 27th which is 17% more than the last year’s revenue. More than 174 million shoppers in US visited either the online stores or the direct malls this year. According to the reports, the prospect of retail shopping is bright with more than 64 million people shopping online and in stores.
According to Rakuten Marketing, Cyber Monday sales has outperformed the Black Friday sale by 68 percent. Mobile phone revenue went up by 31 percent and mobile phone purchases went up by 28 percent. It is suggested that stores should acquire new customers to and hold their loyal customers for ever. Amazon was one of the best companies to enjoy the Cyber Monday sale.
